More selected pages from my visual narrative project that was completed in my second year of uni.
This book represents my memories of my own experience of child and sexual abuse. It also expresses the relationship I had with my teddy. In my childhood I could only turn to my best friend which was my teddy bear that came with me everywhere and is still in my present life.
I used poems that I wrote in my teenage hood when I was going through a hard time to accept my consequence from the past. It was a hurtful era but it was a process of growth, healing and strength. The book depicts my journey from painful to healing and joy.
I hope this piece can inspire people who have struggled with this topic that is hard to express and be spoken out loud. I also hope to do more picture books challenging other difficult issues in the future.
